Andreas is the first chairman of ROOTS & ROUTES Cologne e. V. since its foundation. He works as educational referent at Jugendakademie Walberberg and as a freelance systemic coach. In the 2000 years, he was an established name as DJ Kernes in the electric Cologne nightlife, put on music on invitation of the Goethe institute in Kairo and for Björk’s CD release event in Bilbao and hosted the legendary Beatboutique parties in the Gewölbe at station Cologne-West.
Since 2005, Andreas led the first ROOTS & ROUTES projects together with Sascha Düx in Germany (back then under the roof of jfc Medienzentrum) and was the Secretary-General of the international ROOTS & ROUTES network from 2009 to 2012. Niklas showed a skyrocketing career here at ROOTS & ROUTES Cologne: Since his first participation as helping hand for anything from driving to snack-purchasing at 24Hz Festival 2015, he worked his way up to being our treasurer. On this position, we can count on him since early 2017. In his second life, Niklas graduated in economics at Erasmus University of Rotterdam and is since then active in project management, energy purchasing for local utilities and other bits and bobs within the business world. His arty-creative side still has to be brought to sunlight though.

From there he went to beautiful Cologne around ten years ago, to stir up the local music scene. He is multitalented: Producing beats, recording music, singing, rapping, shooting music videos – J-JD can do all of it. In 2006 he first joined one of the ROOTS & ROUTES projects as a talent and stood on stage at the Summerjam festival after ten hard days of workshops. Since back then he has been sticking with ROOTS & ROUTES as an artist, coach and since 2013 as a board member of RRCGN.
